MY JOURNEY SO FAR
Hi there, Lauren here!
How would I describe myself…? a dedicated yoga teacher, life student, marketer, overthinker, writer, manifestor, crystal lover and a Virgo sun sign.

My yoga journey first began several years ago with a beginners class at my local gym. My intention was to do something good for my body, strengthen an old sports injury and get fit but as I walked away from the class I remember feeling so content, happy, calm and empowered all at the same time. I had never felt so connected and more like myself before, so I began exploring ways to bring these nourishing sensations off the mat and into my daily life.

I explored different classes in my area but my soul craved more, I realised that I had to share this with others. I packed up my mat and travelled to Ubud in beautiful Bali with my best friend to study at the Bali Yoga School. We spent a month immersing ourselves in all things yoga from philosophy to physical practice. We did manage to find some free time to feed our curiosity, by exploring some of the wonderful things that Bali has to offer and I fell in love with the people and culture. It was here that I found Nusa.

Nusa in Indonesian translates to ‘homeland’ or ‘home island’ meaning the place where we belong. For me, this is exactly what I wanted to give people - a safe space, a community with like-minded people, where people feel free to express themselves, a place where everyone belongs. Like most people, life has thrown me all kinds of ups and downs, and I know I will have more moments or speed bumps along the way, but yoga has helped me to heal and grow from these and turn them into lessons. It has taught me so much about who I am as a person, helped me to be more present, care for my body and create more balance in my life. The day to day of life we share can get busy but we MUST make time for ourselves. This is not about being good at something, it’s about being good to yourself.
I invite you to join me on the mat to grow your practice, your confidence and your inner self. So grab your mat and make yourself at home.

Big hugs,

NUSA YOGA
